Re: New Rates and Medical Benefits Enrollment Process for "Postdoctoral Fellows" (Full Time Postdoctoral Clinical Fellows & Postdoctoral Research Fellows Not Receiving Salary)

This memo is a reminder that it is time to process NEW Interdepartmental Invoices (IDIs) for existing Postdoctoral Fellows – to reflect the new medical plan premiums effective January 1, 2004. For your convenience, we are also including the procedures for processing the medical insurance program for new and continuing Postdoctoral Fellows.

Full-time postdoctoral fellows not receiving salary are eligible to participate in the medical plan options that are available to full-time officers. These options include:

• CIGNA Point-of-Service Plan
• Oxford Point-of-Service Plan
• CIGNA Modified Indemnity Plan
• HIP HMO
• Aetna HMO

Details about the medical plan options are included in Benefits in Brief for Officers.

Please note that full-time postdoctoral fellows not receiving salary are eligible only for medical coverage.
