Supervisory Essentials, through which you can earn a Supervisory Certificate, consists of six courses designed to help new managers like you master the skills critical for job success and personal satisfaction. You will learn to think and act like a leader as you develop fundamental skills such as mindful communication, genuine collaboration, and goal integration.
The format is highly interactive. You will discuss challenges with other new supervisors, participate in exercises and practice supervisory skills.
To earn a certificate, you must enroll in and attend Modules 1 through 4, plus "Respect at Work for Managers." If you supervise union staff, you must also enroll in and attend “The Collective Bargaining Agreement."
Each Supervisory Certificate Series module may be taken independently. Staff are encouraged to work with their managers to identify courses that meet their development needs.
