Electronic Resources
The most up-to-date information on library services and resources is available online via LibraryWeb. Hours, services, policies, and collections vary among the libraries; select “Columbia’s Libraries” in LibraryWeb to learn more. Two of the key online services offered by the Libraries are described below. Please note that access to some online materials is limited to current Columbia faculty, staff, and students because of licensing or copyright restrictions. In these cases, a Columbia login is required.

Columbia Libraries Information Online (CLIO) is the online catalog for the Columbia and Barnard libraries. It includes catalog records for print and electronic books, serials, journals, newspapers, online resources, government documents, microforms, sound recordings, video recordings, archival collections, etc. Special features in CLIO help you do the following:
- Use “My CLIO” to customize searching and display options, to save records into your own “book bag,” and to keep track of when your checked-out items are due.
- Find records for items on order or in the process of being cataloged.
- Search directly for materials on course reserves in CLIO, including links to full-text electronic reserves materials.
- Request recalls, holds, place renewals for materials directly from CLIO.
Note: Collections of the Law School, Jewish Theological Seminary, and Teachers College libraries are not in CLIO. Connect to their online catalogs—Pegasus, Aleph, and EDUCAT, respectively—through the “Other Catalogs” link on the LibaryWeb Home Page.
