Columbia University Dining Services maintains various dining facilities on campus. They are open to students, faculty, staff, and visitors on a cash or Flex Account basis. Dining Services also operates more than 100 campus vending machines, which are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Menus, hours of operation, and other relevant information are available via the Web.
Flex Accounts
Employees may wish to take advantage of a Flex Account, an alternative to cash payment that may be used at all of Columbia’s dining facilities. A Flex Account is a declining balance account accessed by your Columbia Card. It is not only good at all Dining Services locations, but also at the University bookstore and campus vending and copy machines.

A European-style marketplace, Ferris Booth Commons serves a wide variety of authentic international cuisines, including Indian, Asian and Italian fare, along with a full range of organic, vegetarian and Kosher products.

This is Columbia’s only all-Kosher dining location, offering students sandwiches, salads and sides to go.
JJ’s Place

JJ’s Place is a uniquely casual and comfortable late-night hangout serving popular foods like burgers, fries and wings, in addition to offering convenience store items.

John Jay Dining Hall serves an “all you care to eat” brunch and dinner, with everything from pancakes, waffles, omelets made to order, and grilled specials to hot entrées (with low-fat vegetarian and vegan choices), pasta, stir-fry, salads, and homemade soups.

Tea & Tea offers traditional Taiwanese teas with a twist, including tapioca-pearl tea drinks, fruit smoothies, milkshakes and a selection of gourmet hot teas. They also offer a selection of tasty steamed bun sandwiches.
Uris Deli

Uris Deli is a traditional New York-style deli, featuring a huge selection of piled-high deli sandwiches, healthy salads, piping hot soup and large array of snacks. Uris Deli also houses an on-campus Starbucks Express for gourmet espresso and cappuccino beverages.

The Food Court at Wien Hall offers a familiar and popular selection of their favorite Asian, Pizza, Greek and Deli fare, in addition to a wide variety of grab-n-go options.

Faculty House offers its congenial lounges, dining rooms, and private rooms and services to all employees and their spouses. Costs are moderate. During the academic year, Faculty House serves lunch, dinner, and cocktails Monday through Friday. It is closed during the Summer.
Faculty House is open to the public, but you can also become a member. Benefits of membership include a ten percent discount on all dining room, caféteria, and cocktail lounge purchases; a charge account with monthly invoicing; advance invitations to special dinners and events; a quarterly newsletter; and reciprocal privileges at the over one hundred other university clubs belonging to the Association of Faculty Clubs International.
Current faculty, officers and staff of Columbia and its affiliates can join as individuals for $85 per academic year. Retired faculty, officers, staff, alumni, and associates of University seminars can join for $35 per academic year. Graduate students currently enrolled at Columbia can join for $10 per academic year (with an account secured by a credit card). Departments can be members at no cost; charges are billed to University accounts (FAS accounts), as specified by the department.

The Garden Café, which features creative casual dining at very moderate prices, offers different menus each day, including gourmet sandwiches and hot entrées, a chef’s table, a pasta station, a salad bar and soups.
DeWitt Clinton Dining Room

The DeWitt Clinton Dining Room offers a prix fixe buffet for lunch and dinner with panoramic views of the city from its terrace. The buffet offerings vary daily, featuring an eclectic selection of soup, salads, hot entrées, a carving station, fine cheeses and desserts.
